My SRN is marked as 'Defective'. What should I do?

In case of STP forms, for example annual forms 20B, 23AC & 23ACA etc, if there is any defect or incompleteness, same is marked by the RoC as ‘Defective’. You are required to file such form afresh after rectifying the defects/ incompleteness with payment of fee and additional fee, as applicable.
acknowledgment lost
what if one loses his i.t. acknowledgment, how can we get a new acknowledgment, will it do if we submit the return again, for revised return we need the acknowledgment copy, i ask an income tax officer on call he replied that if you resubmit there are chances that you might wont get your refund, plz through some light on the case thank you
