WHEN TAX AUDIT RETURN ARE REQUIRE

Hi,

I am new to filing income tax.

I have taken a life insurance policy in january this year (effective 1-1-2011), for which I have paid a premium of Rs. 24,535 in january.

However it has not been reflected on 'digitally signed form 16' provided by my employer.

Please advice how can i get tax relief under 80C.
Do I need to file IT returns now? What proofs will be needed?

I have sold a residential plot having 10% construction and having a occupation certificate for an X amount at a certain date(SELLING DATE -2009).
Considering that my CAPITAL GAIN comes to an amount Y after calculation and that the same Y amount is deposited in a capital gains account with SBI.
Query -
1. Can i just buy a residential plot instead of a residential house for that Y amount?

I git ITR1 from you after processing my returns,I took the print of it,signed and posted to the CPC,bangalore.I am waiting for ITR-V and i have not got it till now.

Now i tried efiling to upload ITR1 in efilling website,but it seems it takes only XML file,mine is PDF.

Let me know how to proceede.
